Back from Greece: Applying the ‘Siga, Siga’ Mindset to LinkedIn Marketing

After an enchanting holiday in Greece, I felt inspired to explore the Greek phrase “Siga Siga” (σιγά-σιγά) and its relevance to social media marketing.

In Hebrew, Siga Siga translates roughly to “slowly, slowly” or “step by step.” While it may seem out of place in the fast-paced world of marketing, embracing this philosophy can actually lead to long-term success and meaningful connections on social platforms. Let’s look at LinkedIn, where I help many businesses grow and thrive.

In their drive for quick results, people often aim for high follower counts, viral posts, or an instant stream of clients. While these goals are important, they sometimes overshadow the true essence of success—building authentic relationships.

Siga Siga emphasizes taking thoughtful, intentional steps toward your goals. Instead of focusing on short-term gains, it encourages patience, consistency, and genuine connections. Here’s how to apply Siga Siga to your LinkedIn strategy:

  1. Build a Strong Foundation
Like a building that requires a solid base, a successful LinkedIn presence starts with a well-crafted profile. A professional photo, compelling headline, and clear summary set the stage for attracting the right audience and making a positive first impression.

  2. Engage Authentically
Instead of posting blindly or spamming others with connection requests, focus on meaningful engagement. Take the time to comment thoughtfully on posts, share valuable insights, and genuinely support others. Building relationships based on authenticity and respect will have a greater impact than a large number of shallow connections.

  3. Nurture Your Connections
After establishing connections, don’t let them fade. Regularly engage with your network by liking, commenting, and sharing. Show genuine interest and offer help or advice when possible. This nurturing approach creates a network more likely to support and refer you in the future.

  4. Provide Value Consistently
One of the core principles is consistently offering value. Share content that resonates with your target audience—industry insights, tips, and advice. By providing ongoing value, you position yourself as a trusted authority.

  5. Patience and Persistence
Remember, LinkedIn success doesn’t happen overnight. It requires time, effort, and perseverance. Embrace the Siga Siga philosophy by staying patient and persistent. Keep showing up, engaging, and adding value. Over time, your steady efforts will lead to meaningful connections, fruitful collaborations, and new business opportunities.

That’s the key to long-term success on LinkedIn!
